Connecting a Universal Oxygen Sensor

Donnerstag, 13. August 2009

Instruction

Please use the cables and connector of the old oxygen sensor.

1.    Hold the old sensor against the new Universal Oxygen Sensor until both have the same length. Now cut the cables of the old probe. Remove the faulty sensor and keep only the cable with the connector.

2.    Remove 3 mm of the insulation at the cable ends of the old sensor.

3.    Now connect the insulated cable ends with the crimp connection of the new sensor. Be careful to connect the correct colors. Black to black, grey to gray, only the 2 white cables are interchangeable. Press the crimp connections with pliers.

4.    Pull the shrinking tubes over the crimp connections until the cable ends are completely covered. Heat the shrinking tubes with a lighter or a heat gun, until they shrunk.

5.    The Oxygen Sensor can now be mounted in the car.
